Same property. Same week. Both numbers.
Each card is one real unit on one real week: the agent login checkout with taxes beside the public site for the identical property on the same seven nights, read Sep 24, 2026. Guest scores are public-site scores out of 10.
Resort direct in late October runs about $272 a night with fees, roughly $1,900 for the week. Still a $960 saving.
Booked inside two weeks of departure. This is where the agent portal is strongest.
Same room, two weeks later on the calendar, and the gap shrinks from $1,800 to $240. Timing is the whole game.
Same studio in May 2027 is $882 before tax. Shoulder season, booked late, is the sweet spot.
The same unit was $1,279 with tax two weeks earlier, and $3,700 a year out. Book late, save more.
Small gap, and the public rate includes breakfast. A family of four needs two rooms.
Bigger gap, lower-rated hotel. We show the score so you can decide.
The pattern
The largest gaps came from Orlando, Maui, Kauai and Los Cabos, inside two to three weeks of departure. That is what unsold seven-night inventory does.
New York rooms came in 10 to 20 percent under the public site on the weeks we checked. For a city stay, the hotel door on your login is the first search.
The agent price is not the point by itself. Your own login is. It lets you search your dates, compare your trip, and pick the better number before you book.
The first door
Your login also searches ordinary hotels worldwide at agent rates. On our own screen they came in at about half of the public hotel sites. Hyatt and Best Western publish agent rates of up to 50 percent off. That door is open the day your subscription starts.
